Counselling is a unique experience in which an individual can explore, understand and accept themselves and their relationships with others. It can be life changing.
In my practice I will support you to know yourself better, by helping you reflect, think and feel about your experiences. I will help you grow your own self-acceptance and awareness.
I offer a nurturing attitude, based on respect, empathy and care. I have a genuine impulse to try and understand the experience of an individual. I aim to meet your experiences with understanding.
My approach can be described as relational, as I believe that the key element in counselling and psychotherapy is about how relationships between people can affect our sense of self and our wellbeing.
I have experience of working with:
loss, grief and bereavement
work related problems
low self esteem
I trained at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute in Nottingham and have a special interest in how love, care and attachment patterns affect us throughout our life course.
I am a member of BACP and abide by their ethical code of practice.
